You are playing $4 – $8 limit hold’em at a local casino. You are in mid position holding Jh Ks. An early, weak player called, a few folds and its up to you to act.
What do you do?
A) Call the bet
B) Raise
C) Fold
The correct play here is to raise because you have a strong hand and you want to get others behind you who are thinking about calling to fold.
So you Raise, and all fold except the button who calls. Both blinds call and so does the early limper.
5 players see the flop of As 3d 7h
The action is checked to you and its your decision,
A) Bet out
B) Check
The answer is to bet out and you do. The button raises, both the blinds Fold and the early limper calls. What do you do? Since its only one bet to you, you can call because of the pot odd even though you are clearly behind. You can also fold because someone has an ace and you are drawing thin. You need two perfect cards to hit therefore folding isn’t bad.
Turn brings a 7c – As 3d 7h
The early limper bets out and now its clearly your time to fold. The button raises, and the limper re-raises forcing the button to think twice.
River is a blank card, meaning not going to help anyone. Bet and a call on the river.
Anyway at the end of the hand, early limper shows 10s 7d and takes the pot while the button mucks Ad Js.
